Who we are ?
Ludocare is a French digital health company pioneering the development of pediatric digital therapeutics. We operate at the intersection of three key public health priorities: early prevention, reducing avoidable healthcare costs, and strengthening healthcare sovereignty.
Our mission is to make a lasting difference in the lives of children with chronic conditions by starting early in childhood ; a critical time for learning and developing lifelong health skills.
Our Digital Therapeutics are pediatric digital medical devices designed around the specific needs of children. Medical and scientific rigor is at the core of how we design and evaluate them. They are developed in collaboration with children, families, and healthcare professionals to fit into everyday life and integrate seamlessly into clinical care.
Our first focus: childhood asthma
Asthma is the most common chronic disease in children. In France, it affects more than one in ten children.(1)
Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by inflammation of the airways.(1)
Despite the availability of treatments to control airway inflammation, this complex condition is often underestimated and remains inadequately controlled.(1,2)
Because these medications are primarily inhaled, their effectiveness depends on proper administration. This requires correct use of the inhaler, proper inhalation technique, and the long-term development and maintenance of the therapeutic skills needed to administer treatment correctly.(2,3)
When treatment is administered incorrectly, drug deposition in the airways may be insufficient, potentially reducing its effectiveness.(4)
JOE® Digital Therapeutic
Provides each child with personalized support to develop the skills needed to administer their treatment correctly
The JOE® Digital Therapeutic is a digital medical device intended for children aged 3 to 11 with persistent asthma, as an adjunct to prescribed treatments and care provided by a healthcare professional.
It is built around an interconnected digital ecosystem comprising a parent app, the JOE® companion robot, and a software platform.
Because each child has a specific treatment regimen and inhaler device, the JOE® Digital Therapeutic uses each child’s individual treatment data to provide personalized support tailored to their prescribed treatment.
Based on the treatment data entered by the parent, the software platform selects and organizes the different steps of each session according to predefined rules based on recommendations for the proper use of medications and inhaler devices.
During each session, the JOE® companion robot guides the child step by step and collects their responses. These responses are analyzed by the platform to determine the next steps in the child’s support and, when needed, prompt the parent to intervene.
The JOE® Digital Therapeutic therefore provides each child with personalized support based on their prescribed treatment, inhaler device, and interactions.
The JOE® Digital Therapeutic addresses the factors that determine the correct administration of inhaled treatments to promote appropriate drug deposition in the airways, improve long-term asthma control, and help reduce the risk of severe exacerbations.
Throughout the program, LUDOCARE’s dedicated team supports families with administrative procedures, getting started with and using the JOE® Digital Therapeutic, and device logistics.

Demonstrated clinical benefit
Demonstrated benefit in children aged 7–11 (1)
The clinical efficacy of the JOE® Digital Therapeutic was evaluated in a clinical study conducted in France involving 213 children with asthma, who were followed for 12 months.
Among children aged 7 to 11, adding the JOE® Digital Therapeutic to standard of care reduced the annual risk of severe asthma exacerbations by 31% compared with standard of care alone.

Favorable opinion from the French National Authority for Health (HAS) (2)
These clinical data were evaluated by the French National Authority for Health (Haute Autorité de Santé, HAS), which issued a favorable opinion for coverage of the JOE® Digital Therapeutic for children aged 7 to 11 with persistent asthma, under the conditions specified in its opinion.
Next step: access and coverage
Coverage for the JOE® Digital Therapeutic is not yet in effect. LUDOCARE is continuing the required processes with the relevant authorities to establish the conditions for coverage and availability.

Real-World Use
Adoption and Positive Feedback from Physicians and Families (1,2)
As part of a large-scale two-year program conducted in France from 2023 to 2024, Ludocare enabled over 750 children with persistent asthma to benefit from the JOE Digital Therapeutic,, through the involvement of 150 prescribing physicians.
An independent survey conducted in 2025 among 53 ambassador physicians confirmed the adoption of the solution:
- 96% of physicians recommend JOE
- 3 out of 4 parents accept the prescription of JOE during the initial consultation
- Satisfaction scores: 7.7/10 (physicians) – 7.5/10 (families)
JOE is recognized as a daily therapeutic ally, a playful companion, and a valuable innovation for better managing pediatric asthma before considering more complex treatments. JOE is easy to use and has no contraindications or drug interactions. It is not perceived as an additional treatment, but as a true companion.
